Regular Season Round 25: Kryvbasbasket - Azovmash 80-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Azovmash (14-9) against fourth ranked Kryvbasbasket (15-9) on Thursday night. Visiting Azovmash was defeated by fourth ranked Kryvbasbasket (15-9) in a tough game in Krivoy Rog 75-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Azovmash. The game without a history. Kryvbasbasket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Azovmash was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin guard Bojan Bakic (197-83, agency: Alti Sport) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners and international power forward Igor Zaitsev (211-89) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kryvbasbasket players scored in double figures. Kryvbasbasket's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Demetrius Alexander (204-75, college: Alabama) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Bogdan Bayda (193-89) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Kryvbasbasket moved-up to third place. Defending champion Azovmash dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Kryvbasbasket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Azovmash will play on the road against DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
