Date: January 2, 2011
Bottom-ranked Burhaniye Bld is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to sixth ranked Tarsus Bld (6-4) 88-60. The game without a history. Tarsus Bld led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. International power forward Naile Ivegin (185-85) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Plenette Pierson (188-81, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Tarsus Bld players scored in double figures. At the losing side Australian forward Penelope Taylor (185-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Allyson Hardy (170-83, college: Bowie St.) scored 13 points and 5 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tarsus Bld moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Besiktas and Botas. Newly promoted Burhaniye Bld still closes the standings with ten games lost. Tarsus Bld will play against Besiktas (#4) in Istanbul in the next round. Burhaniye Bld will play at home against Samsun (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
