Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce Ulker (#3) and Efes Pilsen (#4). Fenerbahce Ulker (11-2) won against visiting Efes Pilsen (9-4) 81-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Efes Pilsen. Efes Pilsen was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 44-31 second half run of Fenerbahce Ulker. The former international power forward Kaya Peker (207-80, agency: Court Side) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Croatian guard Marko Tomas (201-85) chipped in 22 points. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Neven Spahija allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side international power forward Kerem Gonlum (208-77) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Kerem Tunceri (190-79) scored 11 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray and Banvit. Efes Pilsen at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker will play against Mersin (#15) in Akdeniz in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Efes Pilsen will play at home against Besiktas (#7) in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
