Tenth-ranked BC Vienna (6-12) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Raiffeisen Wels (10-8) on Thursday. Raiffeisen Wels managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected easier game. BC Vienna was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Rasheed Brokenborough (191-76, college: Temple, agency: Impact Basketball) who scored 19 points. The other American import forward Bruce Fields (197-80, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Rasmussen Services) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78, agency: World Sport Agency) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian center Russell Hicks (213-85, college: Florida Intern.) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Raiffeisen Wels and four BC Vienna players scored in double figures. Raiffeisen Wels have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with UBSC Graz. Loser BC Vienna keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Raiffeisen Wels will face higher ranked Arkadia Lions (#3) in Traiskirchen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Vienna will play on the road against the league's leader Gmunden Swans (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
