We should mention about the upset which took place in Silute, where higher ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (13-8) lost to tenth ranked Silute (9-13) in a road game 70-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. Zalgiris-Sabonio managed to win third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Silute forced 20 Zalgiris-Sabonio turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Evaldas Jurkus (190-84) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Erikas Kaupaitis (202-84, college: USC Upstate) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Silute players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Vytenis Cizauskas (189-92) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Paulius Sorokas (198-92) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Zalgiris-Sabonio's coach Priit Vene tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Silute moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Triobet Malsta. Loser Zalgiris-Sabonio keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Silute will meet at home higher ranked Radviliskis (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zalgiris-Sabonio will play against Perlas-MRU in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
