Not a big story in a game in Figueira da Foz where 12th ranked Barreirense (1-10) was defeated by sixth ranked Ginasio (6-5) 69-63 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Barreirense was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jason Hartford (206-85) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Spanish guard Tomas Barroso (180-90) chipped in 25 points. American power forward Jabyron Wilson (202-87, college: Elizabeth City) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Tyrone Curnell (201-88, college: Valdosta St., agency: Strategic Sports) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ginasio moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ovarense. Barreirense lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Ginasio will meet Ovarense (#6) on the road in the next round. Barreirense will play against Lusitania (#11) in Angra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
