Regular Season Round 15: Rist Wedel - Vechta 72-85

ProB top team - SC Rasta Vechta (12-3) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked SC Rist Wedel (6-9) 85-72. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rasta Vechta. SC Rist Wedel managed to win fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a quality performance for American guard Matthew Reid (185-84, college: Cameron) who led the winners and scored 28 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Center Andreas Kronhardt (204-89) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five SC Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. American forward David Gomez (201-85, college: Tulane) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian forward Mitch Leger (198-87) added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for SC Rist Wedel in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SC Rasta Vechta have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group North with 12-3 record, which they share with Stahnsdorf. Loser SC Rist Wedel keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. SC Rasta Vechta will meet at home ALBA Berlin II (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SC Rist Wedel will play against USC Leipzig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
