Regular Season Round 27: BC Kyiv - Dnipro 58-73

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Dnipro (14-11) defeated on the road bottom-ranked BC Kyiv (5-20) 73-58. It looked good early as BC Kyiv took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dnipro had a 22-10 second period charge getting the lead and BC Kyiv was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-73. Dnipro made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 BC Kyiv turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Canadian forward Denham Brown (198-83, college: Connecticut, agency: Edge Sports) accounted for 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91) came up with 17 points and the former international forward Oleg Saltovets (202-77) added 5 points and 11 rebounds respectively for BC Kyiv in the defeat. Dnipro maintains sixth place with 14-11 record. BC Kyiv lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Dnipro will have a break next round. BC Kyiv will play on the road against DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk.
