Regular Season Round 15: Giessen - Ehingen 52-71

ProB top team - Ehingen/Urspringschule (14-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Giessen Pointers (3-11) 71-52. The game was mostly controlled by Ehingen/Urspringschule. Giessen Pointers managed to win third quarter 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Tobias Korndoerfer (200-90) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Marcus Johnson (191-87, college: Dayton) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and Jamaican-American forward Kimmani Barrett (198-87, college: La Salle) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Ehingen/Urspringschule. They maintain first place in Group South with 14-1 record. Giessen Pointers lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Ehingen/Urspringschule's next round opponent will be BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#10) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Giessen Pointers will play against Baskets Konstanz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
