There was no surprise when 10th ranked Aalborg (1-16) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Aabyhoj (8-10) 86-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-77. Aabyhoj outrebounded Aalborg 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Edward Morris (203-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Mads Frandsen (202-90) chipped in 9 points and 16 rebounds. American power forward Barkley Falkner (203-86, college: Sam Houston St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Marquis Hall (183-87, college: Lehigh) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aabyhoj maintains sixth place with 8-10 record. Aalborg at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Aabyhoj are looking forward to face higher ranked Horsens IC (#4) in Horsens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aalborg will play on the road against the league's second-placed Svendborg (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
