Regular Season Round 15: Leitershofen - Weissenhorn 100-80

There was no surprise when 7th ranked BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (6-9) was outleveled by fifth ranked Leitershofen (10-5) in Diedorf 100-80 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 20 points. Leitershofen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by BG Illertal/Weissenhorn's players. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for center Devin Uskoski (198-85, college: Rocky Mountain) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Michael Mathey (188-87, college: W.Liberty St.) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Edward Williams (200-80, college: NC-Wilmington) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard DeUndrae Spraggins (191-83, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BG Illertal/Weissenhorn. Five Leitershofen and four BG Illertal/Weissenhorn players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leitershofen moved-up to fourth place in Group South, which they share with Langen. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn lost their third game in a row. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Leitershofen will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners II (#9) in Frankfurt in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn will play at home against Oettinger Rockets Gotha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
