Everything went according to plan in Istanbul where seventh ranked Gelisim (6-6) beat 9th ranked Basaksehir (4-8) 79-70 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 25-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Gelisim made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sercan Topcu (185-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists and power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) who added 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Tyrus Boswell (202-78, college: Ky Wesleyan) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Mehmet Yildizhan (187-86) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Basaksehir's coach Zafer Cavusoglu let to play eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gelisim moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Istanbulspor. Basaksehir lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Gelisim will face higher ranked Selcuk Universitesi (#5) in Konya in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basaksehir will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kepez Bld (#2) in Antalya.
