Regular Season Round 19: Gussing - St.Polten 76-72

Rather expected game when 11th ranked St.Polten (5-14) lost on the road to ninth ranked Gussing Knights (8-11) 76-72. It looked good early as St.Polten took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gussing Knights had a 25-21 second period charge getting the lead and St.Polten was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-76. It was a great evening for naturalized Serbian power forward Aleksandar Djuric (210-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Alexander Nunner (190-85, college: Monmouth, agency: Heinrich Sports) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Tomislav Gaspar (198-83) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard David Jandl (180-84, agency: Court Side) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four St.Polten players scored in double figures. Gussing Knights maintains ninth place with 8-11 record. St.Polten lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Gussing Knights will play against BC Vienna (#10) in Wien in the next round. St.Polten will play at home against Kapfenberg Bulls and hopes to get back on the winning track.
