Not a big story in a game in Angra Heroismo where 8th ranked Terceira Basket (5-6) was defeated by fifth ranked Fisica (8-3) 69-64 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-17. But Terceira Basket won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fisica won last quarter 17-13. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Terceira Basket turnovers. It was a great evening for Guinea-Bissau center Anastacio Sami (207-76) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Carlos Dias (197-79) helped adding 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Nate Bowie (183-86, college: Cent.Arkansas) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Alvaro Pontes (190-85) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Fisica moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Angra. Loser Terceira Basket dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Fisica will face Guifoes (#8) at home in the next round. Terceira Basket will play against Electrico FC in Ponte de Sor.
