Division A top team - Dunav 2007 (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Academic Blagoevgrad (0-9) in Ruse 108-63. The game was mostly controlled by Dunav 2007. Academic Blagoevgrad managed to win fourth quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dunav 2007 dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Academic Blagoevgrad's 42. Dunav 2007 forced 31 Academic Blagoevgrad turnovers and outrebounded them 49-35 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dunav 2007 players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Academic Blagoevgrad's players. Forward Hristo Gospodinov (202-92) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ventsislav Petkov (188-91) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five Dunav 2007 players scored in double figures. Dunav 2007's coach Nikolay Gospodinov felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Boyan Tenev (205-88, college: Lincoln Memorial) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and forward Ivan Kraikov (196-86) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Dunav 2007 have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Newly promoted Academic Blagoevgrad still closes the standings with nine games lost. Dunav 2007 will play against Sportist Svoge (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Academic Blagoevgrad will play against Balkan 2 in Botevgrad and hopes to get finally their first victory.
