No shocking result in a game when second ranked Oberwart Gunners (12-7) beat bottom-ranked Worthersee Piraten (1-18) in Klagenfurt 88-73. The game was mostly controlled by Oberwart Gunners. Worthersee Piraten managed to win third quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oberwart Gunners forced 21 Worthersee Piraten turnovers. Strangely Worthersee Piraten outrebounded Oberwart Gunners 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worthersee Piraten was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Worthersee Piraten's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oberwart Gunners maintains second place with 12-7 record having just three points less than leader Gmunden, which they share with Arkadia and Kapfenberg. Worthersee Piraten lost ninth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Oberwart Gunners will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#6) at home in the next round.
