Fourteenth-ranked Erdemir (4-11) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Besiktas (9-6) on Wednesday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. Erdemir was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Mire Chatman (187-78, college: UTPA, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Polish forward Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St., agency: Stanley International) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward James Thomas (203-80, college: Texas) who recorded 4 points and 16 rebounds and the former international forward Erkan Veyseloglu (200-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Erdemir lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Besiktas will face Turk Telekom (#9) in Ankara in the next round. Erdemir will play at home against Galatasaray (#3) in Istanbul.
