The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Budivelnyk as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Budivelnyk defeated 7th ranked Ferro-ZNTU in Kyiv 83-67. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Ferro-ZNTU managed to win fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lamayne Wilson (204-80, college: Troy) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Denys Lukashov (190-89) contributed with 11 points and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with 23 points and his fellow American import forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ferro-ZNTU. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with BC Donetsk. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with BC Odessa. Ferro-ZNTU will play next round against strong Azovmash trying to get back on the winning streak. Budivelnyk will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Mykolaiv in Mykolaiv.
