Regular Season Round 16: Laisve Kaunas - Utena 91-75

There was no surprise in Kaunas where 7th ranked Utena (1-12) was defeated by fourth ranked Laisve (8-6) 91-75. Utena was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 62-38 second half run of Laisve. They also forced 20 Utena turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Ligita Kinkeviciene (173-76) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Egle Taraseviciute (182-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Laisve's coach Andrius Kuliesius used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Agne Ziegyte (175-86) replied with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Asta Daujadiene (176-73) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Utena. Four Laisve and five Utena players scored in double figures. Laisve moved-up to third place. Utena lost twelfth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Laisve's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kaunas to the arena LKKA-Aistes.
