Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sofia: Levski (#4) and Slavia (#6). Levski (7-5) smashed visiting Slavia (0-12) by 60 points 94-34. The game without a history. Levski led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Slavia to just 6 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Levski dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 28 and had 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Slavia only scored three points from the stripe. Levski forced 30 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 44-25 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Slavia's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Petja Dzhambazka (178-77) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Natalia Topalova-Shopova (187-80) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Levski players scored in double figures. Levski's coach Stefan Mihaylov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international center Alexandra Delcheva (202-87) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Zornitsa Naydenova (172-89) scored 13 points. Newly promoted Levski maintains fourth position with 7-5 record. Slavia at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Levski will play against Beroe 07 (#5) in Stara Zagora in the next round. Slavia will play at home against the league's second-placed Dunav in Ruse and hopes to get finally their first victory.
