Regular Season Round 26: Perlas-MRU - LKKA-Atletas 74-73

NKL round 26 most interesting game took place in Vilnius (derby !!!) between Perlas-MRU and LKKA-Atletas. Eighth ranked Perlas-MRU (11-14) got a very close home victory over higher ranked LKKA-Atletas (16-8). Perlas-MRU managed to escape with a 1-point win 74-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of LKKA-Atletas. They outrebounded LKKA-Atletas 46-31 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Laurynas Jacevicius (193-88) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mantas Kazonas (202-89) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and guard Taurantas Tamosiunas (190-92) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. LKKA-Atletas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Perlas-MRU maintains eighth position with 11-14 record. LKKA-Atletas at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Zalgiris-Sabonio. Perlas-MRU are looking forward to face ABRO-Universitetas (#12) in Siauliai in the next round. LKKA-Atletas will play at home against Delikatesas (#11) in Joniskis and is hoping to win this game.
