Regular Season Round 16: Freiburg - Osnabrueck 84-88

Date: January 15, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked USC Freiburg (3-13) lost at home to fifth ranked GiroLive-Ballers (9-5) 88-84 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 31-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by Canadian forward Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) who scored that evening 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tom Spoeler (206-88) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five GiroLive-Ballers players scored in double figures. Even 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Jamar Nutter (188-84, college: Seton Hall) did not help to save the game for USC Freiburg. His fellow American import guard Paul Gause (180-86, college: Seton Hall) added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for lost side. GiroLive-Ballers maintains fifth position with 9-5 record. USC Freiburg lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Cuxhaven. GiroLive-Ballers will meet Webmoebel Baskets (#9) in the next round. USC Freiburg will play against Cuxhaven BasCats (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
