Rather expected game in Siauliai where 12th ranked ABRO-Universitetas (7-17) was defeated by ninth ranked Silute (10-14) 83-75 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-15. But ABRO-Universitetas won third quarter 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ABRO-Universitetas was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Mindaugas Mockus (195-80) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Erikas Kaupaitis (202-84, college: USC Upstate) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Belarusian swingman Vitali Liutych (198-92) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (184-88) scored 16 points and 7 assists. Silute maintains ninth position with 10-14 record, which they share with Triobet Malsta. ABRO-Universitetas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Silute will face Akademija (#13) in Vilnius in the next round. ABRO-Universitetas will play at home against Perlas-MRU in Vilnius.
