Everything could happen in Langen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Leipzig Eagles and 9th ranked Rhein Main Baskets had identical 4-9 record. But Rhein Main Baskets were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Leipzig 64-58. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rhein Main Baskets won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import forward Candace Williams (183-88, college: New Hampshire) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Jenni Janina Muurinen (186-84) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. Leipzig Eagles maintains eighth position with 5-9 record. Rhein Main Baskets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Leipzig Eagles' next round opponent will be higher ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (#3) at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
