Regular Season Round 16: s.Oliver Baskets - Braves 65-61

Rather predictable result when second ranked s Oliver Baskets (13-3) won against 6th ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (8-7) in Wuerzburg 65-61 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saar-Pfalz Braves won fourth quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American guard Jonathan Levy (193-82, college: Cal.St.-San Bernar.) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and British-Australian guard Lee Jeka (187-83, agency: Promotex) supported him with 16 points and 7 assists. Even 13 points and 5 assists by American guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) did not help to save the game for Saar-Pfalz Braves. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted s Oliver Baskets maintains second position with 13-3 record having just two points less than leader B.Muenchen. Saar-Pfalz Braves lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. s Oliver Baskets will meet ETB Wohnbau (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saar-Pfalz Braves will play against Webmoebel Baskets (#9) in Paderborn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
