Regular Season Round 16: Herten Lions - MTV Wolfenbuettel 92-71

Very expected game when 11th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (4-12) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Hertener Loewen (11-5) 92-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-71. Hertener Loewen made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vincent Kittmann (199-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Marcus Monk (198-86, college: Arkansas) who added 21 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) during the contest. Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Justin Sexton (203-88, college: Pomona-Pitzer) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Henje Knopke (193-85) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hertener Loewen maintains fourth position in Group North with 11-5 record. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Hertener Loewen will face SC Rist Wedel (#8) on the road in the next round. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play against SSV Lok Bernau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
