Regular Season Round 16: Hannover - Crailsheim 85-89

Date: January 16, 2011
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Crailsheim Merlins (9-7) beat on the road 10th ranked Hannover Tigers (7-9) 89-85 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 26-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated also this game. The winners were led by forward Reggie Fuller (198-86, college: Binghamton) who scored that evening 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Kameron Gray (186-82, college: Oklahoma City) supported him with 14 points and 8 assists. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Ingo Enskat allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points and 4 assists by guard Lloyd Phillips (178-85, college: Illinois St.) did not help to save the game for Hannover Tigers. Forward Ben Stywall (196-87, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Strategic Sports) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Hannover Tigers players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins has a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Hannover Tigers keep the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Heidelberg. Crailsheim Merlins will meet at home Dragons Rhoendorf (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hannover Tigers will play against BG Karlsruhe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
