Very predictable result in Istanbul where sixth ranked Besiktas (9-6) outscored 15th ranked Mersin (3-12) 91-71 on Monday. The game without a history. Besiktas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Polish forward Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St., agency: Stanley International) who scored 28 points. American guard Mire Chatman (187-78, college: UTPA, agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Besiktas' coach Ergin Ataman used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and forward Nedim Yucel (203-79) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively.
