Regular Season Round 18: SISU - Vaerlose 69-80

Date: January 20, 2011
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked SISU (7-12) lost to eighth ranked Vaerlose (6-12) in Copenhagen 69-80. The game was mostly controlled by Vaerlose. SISU managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Bonell Colas (206-82, college: Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Senegalese power forward Pape Ba (205-81, college: Bethune-Cookman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Donald Rutherford (198, college: Catawba) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Mickey Dennis (190-78, college: JMU) added 19 points respectively. SISU's coach Almir Zeco tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Vaerlose maintains eighth position with 6-12 record. SISU lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. Vaerlose's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Aalborg (#10) at home.
