Regular Season Round 14: Zeleznicar - Spartak 93-85

The most important game in the last round took place in Indija between third ranked Spartak (10-4) and fifth ranked Zeleznicar (9-5) on Saturday night. Spartak was defeated by Zeleznicar in a tough game on the road 85-93. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-20. But Spartak won second period 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zeleznicar dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak's 28 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Spartak helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Bosnian guard Vladimir Jojic (185-75) who scored 20 points and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Slobodan Gugleta (-83) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Miroslav Radic (195-84) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and Rados Vukolic added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Spartak's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zeleznicar moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Spartak keeps the third position with four games lost. Zeleznicar are looking forward to face KK Nis (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak will play against the league's leader BKK Radnicki (#1) in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
