The game in Klaipeda was quite interesting. Fifth ranked LKKA-Atletas (17-9) played at the court of 7th ranked Nafta Universitetas (14-12). LKKA-Atletas defeated Nafta Universitetas 78-63 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The winners were led by guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists and forward Vidmantas Sragauskis (200-86) supported him with 23 points and 7 rebounds. LKKA-Atletas' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 22 points by guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) did not help to save the game for Nafta Universitetas. Guard Haroldas Venskus (180-91) added 13 points and 6 assists for lost side. LKKA-Atletas maintains fifth position with 17-9 record, which they share with Zalgiris-Sabonio. Loser Nafta Universitetas keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. LKKA-Atletas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Erelita-KTU.
