Regular Season Round 17: Zrinjski HT - Leotar 87-57

SL IAT Leotar (#5) was upset in Mostar by eighth ranked Zrinjski HT 87-57. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of SL IAT Leotar. SL IAT Leotar was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Zrinjski HT dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SL IAT Leotar's 34. SL IAT Leotar was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Mato Peraica (203-81) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (203-88) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Zrinjski HT players scored in double figures. Montenegrin forward Bojan Pelkic (206-83, agency: Beo Basket) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Dusko Markovic (204-74) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for SL IAT Leotar in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zrinjski HT (8-8) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sloboda Dita. SL IAT Leotar at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Zrinjski HT will play against higher ranked Mladost (#4) in Mrkonjic Grad in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SL IAT Leotar will play at home against Brotnjo in Citluk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
