Very significant was NBC's (#2) 69-57 road victory against 3rd placed Licher Baeren in Group South. The game was mostly controlled by NBC. Licher Baeren managed to win third quarter 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Licher Baeren 35-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. Swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) nailed 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized Czech center Martin Ides (217-80, college: Davidson, agency: Rasmussen Services) accounted for 8 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Willis Gardner (185-86, college: Colorado St., agency: Stanley International) came up with 24 points and guard Rolf Scholz (187-80) added 2 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Licher Baeren in the defeat. Licher Baeren's coach Igor Starcevic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. NBC maintains second place in Group South with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Ehingen. Licher Baeren at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Leitershofen. NBC will play against Leitershofen (#4) in Diedorf in the next round. Licher Baeren will play on the road against Baskets Konstanz and hopes to get back on the winning track.
