Everything went according to plan in Istanbul where fourth ranked Gaziantep (9-5) won against 9th ranked Basaksehir (4-10) 90-76 on Sunday. Strangely Basaksehir outrebounded Gaziantep 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Cihan Delicay (185-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Guard Sercan Topcu (185-85) produced 22 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and forward Adnan Sevda (206-86, agency: EM-PA) added 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Four Gaziantep and five Basaksehir players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Gaziantep maintains fourth position in Group B with 9-5 record. Basaksehir lost fifth consecutive game. Basaksehir at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth place with ten games lost. Gaziantep will face Selcuk Universitesi (#5) in Konya in the next round. Basaksehir will play on the road against the league's leader Optimum TED (#1) in Ankara.
