Leader Gmunden Swans delivered the seventeenth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Gussing Knights (8-13) 87-60. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Gussing Knights managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gussing Knights' 28. It was a good game for international power forward Matthias Mayer (204-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso, agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. American forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sebastian Koch (201-88) added 15 points in the effort for Gussing Knights. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gmunden Swans has a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-4 record. Gussing Knights at the other side keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with BC Vienna. Gmunden Swans will play against Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) at home in the next round. Gussing Knights will play against Raiffeisen Wels (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
