Regular Season Round 12: Academik BL - Cherno More U20 91-100

Bottom-ranked Academic Blagoevgrad (0-11) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to eighth ranked Cherno More U18 (5-6) 100-91. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-23. But Academic Blagoevgrad won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherno More U18 made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Academic Blagoevgrad was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by forward Nikolay Stoyanov (195-94) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Anton Dikov (191-94) supported him with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 51 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by the former international forward Yavor Ivanov (195-84) did not help to save the game for Academic Blagoevgrad. Forward Boyan Tenev (205-88, college: Lincoln Memorial) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Newly promoted Cherno More U18 maintains eighth position with 5-6 record. Academic Blagoevgrad at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Cherno More U18 will play against Sportist Svoge (#10) at home in the next round. Academic Blagoevgrad will play against Rilski 2 in Samokov and hopes to get finally their first victory.
