Regular Season Round 17: Slavija - HEO 80-81

Thirteenth-ranked Slavija (2-14) gave a tough game to eighth ranked Hercegovac (8-7) in Sarajevo. The visitors from Bileca managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Slavija took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hercegovac had a 25-20 second period charge getting the lead and Slavija was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-81. Montenegrin swingman Goran Gajovic (199-88) saved the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Montenegrin center Andrija Pejovic (205-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Hercegovac players scored in double figures. Power forward Darko Damjanovic (203-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Serbian forward Igor Vukovic (202-82) added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Slavija. Hercegovac moved-up to sixth place. Slavija lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Hercegovac's next round opponent will be higher ranked Capljina Lasta (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
