Regular Season Round 17: Braves - Finke Baskets 75-73

A very interesting game took place in Homburg. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Webmoebel Baskets (8-9) to eighth ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (9-7) 75-73 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Webmoebel Baskets. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Webmoebel Baskets won third quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Webmoebel Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Stephen Cramer (188-84, college: Hope (MI)) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Saar-Pfalz Braves players scored in double figures. Guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St.) answered with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Webmoebel Baskets. Saar-Pfalz Braves moved-up to seventh place. Webmoebel Baskets at the other side keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Saar-Pfalz Braves' next round opponent will be ETB Wohnbau (#14) in Essen and are hoping to win another game. Webmoebel Baskets will play on the road against USC Freiburg (#15) and be promoted back to the 1.Bundesliga just one year after relegation.
