Regular Season Round 17: Leitershofen - Langen 69-68

A very close game took place in Diedorf between Leitershofen and TV 1862 Langen. Fifth ranked Leitershofen (12-5) got a very close home victory over 4th placed TV 1862 Langen (11-6). Leitershofen managed to escape with a 1-point win 69-68 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TV 1862 Langen. TV 1862 Langen was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Leitershofen, which allowed them to win the game. Leitershofen had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Devin Uskoski (198-85, college: Rocky Mountain) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Australian center Auryn MacMillan (203-88, college: Gardner-Webb) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Marco Voeller (201-89) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four TV 1862 Langen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leitershofen has a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with Licher Baeren. Loser TV 1862 Langen dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Leitershofen will meet league's second-placed NBC in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TV 1862 Langen will play against Oettinger Rockets Gotha and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
