Regular Season Round 14: Vestel - Usak 93-78

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Manisa. Third ranked Vestel faced 4th ranked Usak. Host Vestel (11-3) defeated guests from Usak (9-5) 93-78. Vestel looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Usak was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) who scored 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88) chipped in 13 points. American forward Larry Smith (193-83, college: Post) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Ufuk Yanar (197-81) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Vestel has a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Genc Banvit. Loser Usak keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Vestel will face Final Genclik (#6) in Bursa in the next round where they are favorite. Usak will play at home against Istanbul B.B..
