Regular Season Round 30: Hoverla - DniproAzot 80-82

The most important game in the last round took place in Frankivsk between third ranked Hoverla (17-10) and tenth ranked DniproAzot (11-16) on Monday night. Hoverla was edged by DniproAzot in a tough game at home 80-82. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hoverla. Hoverla was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Hoverla helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklahoma Baptist, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Derrick Zimmerman (189-81, college: Mississippi St., agency: Pro One Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists and his fellow American import guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 18 points respectively. Four DniproAzot and five Hoverla players scored in double figures. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. DniproAzot maintains tenth position with 11-16 record. Hoverla at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. DniproAzot will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hoverla will play at home against the league's leader BC Donetsk where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
