There was no surprise when 15th ranked Brasov (1-18) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Timisoara (8-11) 80-75 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-15. But Brasov won third quarter 21-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian forward Milos Pesic (202-84) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian forward Nenad Markovic (199-80) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Timisoara's coach Dragan Petricevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin center Zeljko Bubanja (210-73) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and center Bogdan Dragus (206-82) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brasov players scored in double figures. Timisoara maintains twelfth position with 8-11 record. Brasov lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Miercurea. Timisoara will meet at home league's leader Ploiesti in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Brasov will play against Otopeni (#9).
