Very predictable result when second ranked Budivelnyk (22-6) won against 11th ranked Khimik (9-20) in Yuzhny 90-80 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-80. Budivelnyk made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Budivelnyk especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 73.3 percentage. Khimik was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard William Keys (188-77, college: N.Mexico St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Bosnian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82) answered with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Curtis Millage (185-81, college: Arizona St.) added 20 points in the effort for Khimik. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Budivelnyk maintains second place with 22-6 record behind leader BC Donetsk. Loser Khimik dropped to the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Budivelnyk will have a break next round.
