Rather expected game when 6th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (10-8) were defeated on the road by third ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (13-5) 57-52 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 57-52. The best player for the winners was American guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) who scored 22 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The other American import center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds.
