Regular Season Round 19: Nevezis - Neptunas 69-76

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Nevezis (5-8) lost to eleventh ranked Neptunas (5-8) in Kedainiai 69-76 on Friday. The guests trailed by 21 points after three quarters before their 36-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Luke Bonner (213-85, college: Massachusetts) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85) came up with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Latvian forward Ernests Kalve (200-87) added 14 points respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Nevezis' coach Rimas Girskis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Neptunas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Nevezis. Nevezis lost their fourth game in a row. Neptunas will meet league's second-placed Lietuvos Rytas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play against Alytus Alita (#13) and hope to secure a win.
