Regular Season Round 15: Usak - Istanbul B.B. 75-54

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Usak (10-5) rolled over at home 7th ranked Istanbul B.B. (7-8) 75-54 on Saturday. Usak forced 19 Istanbul B.B. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Istanbul B.B.'s players. It was a good game for guard Mahir Bayrak (180-79) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 7 assists. Center Cem Coskun (209-87) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Usak players scored in double figures. American center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Recep Dogrusoz (-86) added 17 points in the effort for Istanbul B.B.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Usak moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Genc Telekom. Loser Istanbul B.B. dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Usak will face league's leader Genc Banvit in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Istanbul B.B. will play at home against Final Genclik (#6) in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
