It was an exceptional evening for Sertay Gursu (-87, agency: EM-PA) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Costa Rican center Hernold Gardener (205-82, college: Lon Morris JC) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sayit Ay (185-80) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Final Genclik in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Vestel. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Genc Banvit. Final Genclik at the other side keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Pertevniyal and Istanbul B.B.. Vestel will meet at home Orman Genc (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Final Genclik will play against Istanbul B.B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
