LKL top team - Zalgiris (14-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Techasas (8-6) in Panevezys 88-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Techasas. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Techasas managed to win third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Zalgiris outrebounded Techasas 42-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Mantas Kalnietis (196-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 assists. The former international forward Paulius Jankunas (205-84, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach Elias Zouros used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Darius Silinskis (216-84, agency: Interperformances) answered with 14 points and 4 assists and guard Sarunas Kulevicius (190-89) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Techasas. Zalgiris have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-0 record. Techasas at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Juventus. Zalgiris are looking forward to face Sakalai (#12) in Vilnius in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Techasas will play on the road against Rudupis (#3) in Prienai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
