Everything could happen in Vilnius at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked ABRO-Universitetas and 14th ranked Akademija had identical 7-20 record. But Akademija was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Siauliai 87-71 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by ABRO-Universitetas. Akademija managed to win second period 30-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Akademija 47-27 including a 37-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Osvaldas Olisevicius (196-93) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Karolis Alekna (183-91) scored 19 points and 6 steals. Akademija's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. ABRO-Universitetas maintains thirteenth position with 8-20 record. Akademija lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Puntukas. ABRO-Universitetas will meet higher ranked Erelita-KTU (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Akademija will play against Triobet Malsta in Jonava and hope to secure a win.
