The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dunav as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Montana 2003) loss. Dunav smashed 5th ranked Beroe 07 in Ruse 88-67. The game was mostly controlled by Dunav. Beroe 07 was better in fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dunav dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe 07's 44. American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Katya Kordova (176-86) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American guard Juanita Ward (180-86, college: Syracuse, agency: Merit Sports) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Neli Pasheva (175-81) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Beroe 07. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Lukoil and Montana 2003. Beroe 07 at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Beroe 07 will play next round against Slavia trying to get back on the winning streak. Dunav will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Montana 2003 on the road.
